Leftover turkey bone from Thanksgiving. Hmmm. Green chile stew. Hmmm. No fresh cilantro. Hmmm.
Today was my first attempt to use my essential oils for green chile stew. I won't share my entire recipe right in this blog, but will share the essential secret to an eo-amazing green chile stew.
2 drops cilantro essential oil
2 drops coriander essential oil
2 drop lime essential oil
Just minutes before serving, turn heat off and add the essential oils to the entire pot.
The traditional flavors come through providing a foundation and complement to the fresh flavors of the carrots, celery, and onions. This use of essential oils in cooking is a more subtle application--taking a supporting role to the turkey, green chile, and fresh vegetables.
We served the green chile stew with a wedge of fresh lime, shredded cheddar, a dollop of Greek yogurt, and some fresh tortillas.
Bottom line--a successful pot of green chile stew featuring three essential oils: cilantro, coriander, and lime.
